About Mativ
Description
Mativ is currently searching for Accounting Intern to join our team next summer. We are looking for a driven intern to support the accounting team in day-to-day financial activities including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, financial analysis, and audit preparation.
The Mativ Summer Internship Program is scheduled to start on May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025. Our paid internship offers a well-rounded experience including: meaningful work, dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development and more.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bank reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end closing procedures.
- Perform data entry, maintain records and filing systems.
- Assist with financial analysis, reporting and forecasting.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and assist with audit inquiries.
- Provide accurate and timely consolidated financial statements and analyses on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Prepare and analyze financial results which could include ad hoc reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly SEC filings and other external reporting processes, including compilation and maintenance of supporting documents for the financial statements and footnotes, preparation of Earning Release materials, and support for other governmental and external reporting.
- Prepare other monthly and quarterly internal business reporting, including assistance with debt covenant compliance, balance sheet and cash flow analytics, stock-based compensation, other debt and treasury schedules as needed.
- Support monitoring of rulemaking activity (FASB and SEC).
- Perform accounting research and document technical accounting positions and provide guidance on complex accounting matters and corporate policies to assist business units globally in their reporting responsibilities.
- Assist with process documentation and policies to ensure accuracy, effectiveness and reliability of the established financial controls and US GAAP and statutory compliance
- Prepare or review journal entries and account reconciliations for certain complex corporate activities, as required.
- Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum GPA-3.0.
- Internship or work experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
