Corporate Assistant Controller
The Corporate Assistant Controller plays a critical role in supporting the Controller with financial management and reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of consolidation, financial reporting, general ledger accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This role demands a high-energy and innovative professional, known for strong organizational, quantitative, and communication skills. A proven track record of success and the ability to take on greater responsibilities as the company continues to expand and evolve are important.
What you will be doing:
The Assistant Controller will assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, and review and consolidate the submitted financials from four international operating sites. They will also support the Controller in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. They will oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
The Assistant Controller will coordinate and prepare financial reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders. They will assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. They will also ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Controller will also review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of discrepancies. They will support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
In addition, the Assistant Controller will contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting, lead financial reviews with operational managers and upper management, and assist with tax compliance efforts. Finally, they will perform variance and trend analysis on financial data to identify issues and inefficiencies and coordinate with external auditors to complete year-end financial audits.
What we expect from you:
Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required. They need to have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis. They also need a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
Our ideal candidate has Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
They will need to have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools is a plus.
