Summary
The Corporate Controller will provide key financial and related information to corporate officers, managers, and other stakeholders to support effective company management. This role oversees all financial functions across the organization, including its divisions, subsidiaries, and affiliates. Responsibilities include implementing and recommending financial reporting systems to track cash flow, earnings, assets, liabilities, stockholders' equity, and other key financial metrics. Key finance functions managed by this role include payroll, general accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, fixed assets, business tax accounting, customer credit, accounts receivable/payable, and internal auditing. The Controller will also ensure approved accounting practices are followed, providing accurate financial reports that reflect the company's financial position.
Reporting to: Vice President of Finance
Supervises: All finance personnel
Essential Duties:
- Recommend, implement, and enforce accounting and payroll policies.
- Optimize the performance of the finance team through training, motivation, and clear productivity goals.
- Oversee the preparation of ledgers, plant reports, corporate reports, and other financial statements.
- Ensure accurate classification of all expenditures, including capital expenses.
- Review inventory control and reporting to ensure the accuracy of inventory records and manufacturing costs.
- Ensure timely preparation of departmental reports.
- Serve as the main contact for independent auditors and tax authorities.
- Conduct special accounting studies, analyses, and cost studies, providing insights and recommendations to reduce costs and improve profitability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BS or BA).
- CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of management experience in general accounting.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication and management skills are essential.
