Corporate Counsel
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Corporate Counsel to join our global Corporate Legal team. In this role, you will be based in either New York or San Francisco. As Corporate Counsel at Adyen you will be primarily responsible for driving the Corporate Legal team strategy throughout North America and Latin America. You will assist the Corporate team on a broad portfolio of topics, including litigation, procurement, complex contracting, insolvencies and general corporate matters. The Corporate Legal team is centered in Amsterdam and the United States, however as Adyen is a global company with offices, entities, and boards all over the world, you will be required to apply your knowledge globally. You have a passion for our business and you would like to contribute to ensure the further growth of Adyen.
What you will do:
- Together with the team you will provide strategic legal advice across various corporate functions, assisting teams such as regulatory, procurement and partnerships.
- Draft and review complex commercial contracts and agreements, including banking agreements, license agreements, and service agreements.
- Contribute on business and legal projects globally covering a variety of topics, including implementation of regulatory requirements, cross-functional projects, product, and procurement.
- Monitor and manage litigation and dispute resolution, including third-party enforcement requests, customer and partner disputes and any court proceedings.
- Keep track of new legislative proposals and other legal and compliance developments relevant to Adyen across the globe.
Who you are:
- You have 5+ years of post-qualification experience, at least some of which at a top law firm.
- Strong commercial contracting and/or commercial disputes experience within the United States, with a license to practice in either New York or California.
- You will have an ability to coordinate with other local counsels across jurisdictions such as Latin America, Europe, APAC, and the UAE.
- You are a team player who likes to collaborate and include different people to sharpen your ideas.
- You have experience educating others on complex ideas, communicating them clearly, and providing training when necessary.
- You have the ability to structure and prioritize in a high volume, fast-paced environment and build and drive processes to completion.
- You are available to work from our New York office and travel to other offices periodically.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

This role is based out of our San Francisco or NYC office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
