Corporate Credit Analyst - Mizuho Americas Services LLC

About the Team:
The Corporate & Structured Products Credit team (CPSC)is responsible forwholesale credit exposures, primarily lending and derivative exposure backed by corporate or securitized cash flows. The team is organized by Sector Coverage (focused primarily on relationship lending) and Product Coverage (including Project Finance, Securitization,Real Estateand LBO). Responsibilities are two-fold:

(i) loan underwriting and derivative approval, and

(ii) ongoing monitoring of the portfolio.

Summary:
In this position, you will support the credit approval and decision-making process.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide effective analysis of credit including, worthiness of applicant, loan structure, risk return,applicant operating profile and industry profile including historical profit and loss performance, financial condition and cash flow.

• Create Createvarioustypesofprojection/recovery/otherfinancialmodels,commentingonthe reasonableness of assumptions in both management and Mizuho’s sensitivity cases.

• Compare the prospective borrower to its peers and notes industry trends.

• Prepare accurate, clear, well-organized and complete written summary/analysis (Credit Opinion) with recommendations for approval or decline. Discuss with branches/agencies potential changes to credit structure or other conditions for which we would grant credit approval.

• Recommend appropriate risk rating for each customer/transaction as required.

• Proactively monitor and assess assigned borrowers/industries including market data such as share price, EDF, CDS or loan secondary price or other appropriate indices and reports the information and its impact on credits/industries to Senior Management in atimely manner.

• Complywith credit standards, policies, objectives and requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree;major in Finance or Economicsisa plus

• 1-3 years of relevant bankingexperience

• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Work, andPowerPoint

• Proactive, curious self-starter who has an interest in pursuing a career in finance.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills demonstratingthe ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics, and apply sound analysis and judgment.

• Knowledge of financial statements and accounting; abilityto construct 3-statement cash flow models, supported by justifiable assumptions.

• Solid time management skills.

• Consistently demonstrate effective negotiation, verbal and written communication skills; ability to present credit package to decision maker.

• Excellent interpersonal skills;capable of working well independently and in teams.

The expected base salary ranges from $80,000 - $100,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
