About the Job
The Corporate Development Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in the development and execution of corporate wide strategy at Merz Aesthetics, the world’s largest dedicated medical aesthetics business. The intern will be provided a dedicated project to work on and the opportunity to be involved in other on-going corporate development activities (e.g., due diligence activities, competitive intelligence activities). Outside of experience gained in corporate strategy and development, the internship will also provide opportunities for networking and professional development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Corporate Development Intern will be provided a dedicated project that they can own from start-to-finish. Given the potential for changing priorities in corporate development, the exact project will be determined at the time of internship and will be based on current needs of the group and the intern’s interests, but may be similar to the following structure:
- Search and evaluation project – activities may include some, or all, of the following:
- Development of a strategic framework to identify and prioritize potential targets
- Detailed market landscape assessment to identify potential targets
- Prioritization of potential targets for further evaluation
In addition, the Corporate Development Intern may be involved in other activities, such as:
- Transactional support (due diligence activities, financial modeling, contract execution)
- Competitive intelligence activities
- Analysis of market financial data
- Market research (partnering with external consultants on primary research efforts)
Minimum Qualifications
- Required
- Background in business and/or life sciences
- Self-motivated and eagerness to learn
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- High sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Genuine interest in corporate strategy and development
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analytics
- Experience developing executive-level PowerPoint presentations
Education
- Required:
- Currently a junior or senior enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program (business-relevant majors preferred)
- Preferred:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MBA, MS/PhD)
