Corporate/Music Associate - Multiple Offices (Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY)
$205,000 - $250,000
We have an opening in multiple offices in our Entertainment and Sports Law Department for an Associate with Corporate and Music experience.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required. The candidate must be licensed to practice in the state where the office resides.
- 4-6 years of experience in the corporate and/or music department(s) of prominent law firm(s).
- Experience with a prominent law firm that has both corporate and music departments or equivalent.
- Familiarity with asset purchase agreements, stock purchase agreements, recording contracts, various publishing contracts, producer agreements, songwriting agreements, tour and tour-related agreements, management agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, corporate governance and investment documents.
- Working knowledge of both mergers and acquisitions in the music space and standard music transactions.
- Experience with music catalog sale due diligence.
- Strong drafting, organizational and time management skills. Detail oriented.
- Ability to work with and coordinate copyright due diligence and trademark searches, with the assistance of IP counsel.
- Ability to run acquisition and sale deals with partner oversight
