Corporate Project Engineer IV - GAF

And under this roof, we protect what matters most. Summary We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Corporate Engineering team. The incumbent will report directly to the Sr. Director of Operations Capital Implementation. This role will lead various projects at our manufacturing facilities throughout the GAF organization. Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Analyze all facets of proposed projects and provide detailed cost, schedule, and justificationestimatestosupportcapitalexpenditures.Interfacewithmaintenance and production to ascertain and identify operational maintenance problems and opportunities. Conduct engineering and project analysis and follow through with major and minor project recommendations, justification, and implementation. + Manage all aspects of major projects including design construction, vendor management, cost tracking, operational interfaces and operations preparation, and startup. + Lead/participate in cross-functional corporate and plant teams investigating opportunitiestoimproveandexpandGAF'sprocessesandproducts,andbusiness opportunities + Coordinate between contractors, vendors, and GAF to manage, engineer, and implement projects efficiently without causing production delays or upsets. + Collaborate with other Electrical infrastructure and controls SME's to develop intimate working knowledge of GAF electrical design speci?cations. Technical Skills + Working knowledge of standard manufacturing concepts, practices, & procedures + Advanced ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings + Working proficiency using root cause analysis and Kepner-Trego or other structured methods to troubleshoot and solve problems + Advanced ability to translate technical data into a format/language suitable for operations and maintenance personnel + Experienceinprocesshazardanalysisandprocesssafetymanagement + Advancedknowledgeofengineeringfundamentals + Advancedproficiencyinmechanical,electrical,hydraulic,andpneumatics Job / General knowledge/skills + Demonstrated leadership in terms of capital project planning, development, and execution including conceptual design, detailed design, construction and installation coordination, technical training, and turnover, start-up support, and sustained ownership. + Demonstrated leadership in terms of capital project planning, development, and execution including conceptual design, detailed design, construction and installation coordination, technical training, and turnover, start-up support, and sustained ownership. + Knowledge of/experience with manufacturing analysis tools, such as statistical analysis/statistical process control (SPC), process capability studies, lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kepner-Tregoe, and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) + Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations + Advanced demonstrated communications skills; written, verbal, and listening skills + Advanced analytical skills + Advancedorganizationalskillsandattentiontodetail-abletoplan,execute,and control multiple tasks simultaneously + Advanced problem solving skills + Knowledge and practice with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Standard Under This Roof, We Require + ABSEngineering(Mechanical,Electrical,orChemicalwithElectricalpreferred)coupled with a minimum of 7 years project management experience. + Applicable experience with Electrical project design, power distribution, and exposure to controls integration. + The ideal candidate will have a proven background in managing projects with budgets of $100K - $20MM. + Demonstratedabilitytoworkinmulti-disciplinesasprojectmanagerandsupervise others as a lead engineer. + Demonstrated ability to work with and provide expertise in maintenance, operations, and process. + Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%. Under This Roof, We Also Value + 5 years in a roofing/building products manufacturing organization - (preferred) + Thorough knowledge and experience with computers and Gsuite/MSOffice. Drafting experience with CAD, preferably Autodesk products, is preferred. + The preferred location for the position is remote, located within one hour of a large or major airport.
