Cosmetology Leader Role
The Clinic Floor Leader runs and maintains all clinic floor sales, operations, and communication with the Service Desk Leader, Sales Leader, and Clinic Floor Learning Leaders. This is a sales-focused position requiring a strong knowledge of all Paul Mitchell hair care products, Pro ToolsTM, and skin and nail products. The objective is to meet or exceed Take Home and service dollar goals by leading students and Clinic Floor Learning Leaders in the sales systems. He or she oversees that team members are managing their zones and inspects that no services guests are turned away for a service and that each receives the full service experience.
Skill Leader Role - Essential Functions
ï± Follows and administers school curriculum and lessons for defined areas (cutting, barbering, color, texture,
long hair, makeup, skin, nails, and Final Phase/state board) and provides ongoing support as a Skill Specialist
and mentor for newly hired team and fellow Learning Leaders.
ï· Prepares mini-classes and learning centers for classroom and clinic classroom learning.
ï¥ Takes an active role in training and co-certifying Learning Leaders. He or she works with the Education
Leader to support the growth of each Learning Leader on his or her career path.
ï² Assesses the ongoing needs of the Learning Leaders. Based on needs, he or she develops and teaches
in-house trainings for clinic classroom learning and certifications in collaboration with the Education Leader.
ï´ Maintains current and accurate lesson files, handouts, and posters.
ï¹ Maintains and models clinic classroom learning and professional expertise by remaining current with state
board requirements and exams. He or she provides salon/spa preparedness training for Future Professionals.
ïµ Travels, on a limited basis, to Specialist Trainings and advanced technical skill trainings.
ï© Attends Huddle, monthly Town Hall meetings, team trainings, FUNraising events, Free Hugs/Community
Love, Caper, Style Extravaganza, graduation, and celebrations to sustain the school culture.

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have successful previous sales experience, as well as experience with Paul Mitchell products. He or she must be self-motivated to set, meet, and exceed goals, as well as inspire, inspect, and coach team members in all clinic floor systems including up-selling, rebooking, and guest service systems. This position requires experience in positive and effective communication, customer service resolution, teamwork, and beauty product sales.
Skills/Competencies Required:
- Experience instructing at a cosmetology school
- Current cosmetology, barbering, esthetic, or nail and instructor license
- Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills
- Skills in supervision, teamwork, documentation, and return on investment
- Solid work history with verifiable references
- Passion for the beauty industry
- Honesty and professionalism
- Knowledge in Paul Mitchell Schools' cultural and technical systems is preferred
