Position Summary:
The manufacturing accountant is responsible for oversight/audit of the standard and actual labor and overhead in the Ross ERP system. They will calculate pricing of the new and existing products by determining various cost components including labor and overhead rates. They will also provide meaningful reports to operations based on the actual performance data obtained from Factory MES system.

Job Functions:
1. Review all jobs ready for close and investigate variances that are outside tolerances. Final
close all jobs on a daily basis.
2. Review daily labor allocated to jobs vs hours recorded through the payroll timekeeping system to make sure that all hours are being properly accounted for.
3. Make sure that bulk ingredients are properly accounted for (issued to jobs) so that inventory and spoilage can be properly recorded
4. Calculate pricing for new products including determining machine and labor rates based on pack and batch sizes
5. Coordinate with operations/floor managers on process flow, scrap and other production related factors impacting pricing
6. Assist in existing products price review and new pricing roll out
7. Do weekly random cycle count of inventory items to check the accuracy of inventory balances.
8. Obtain and analyze data from Factory MES and provide meaningful reports to operations
9. Analyze and update labor standard rates into the ERP system.
10. Prepare daily and monthly labor productivity reports
11. Serve as backup for AR, AP and payroll processing.
12. Perform month-end closing, post journal entries and prepare GL reconciliations when needed
13. Other duties as assigned by the Controller
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION
B.A. in accounting or finance from an appropriately accredited university.
EXPERIENCE 5 years’ experience in accounting with 2 years in cost
accounting/manufacturing
SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of accounting principles and PC spreadsheet software. Good communication skills and strong analytical abilities. Working knowledge
of Microsoft Office Suite.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use keyboard and calculator, see, hear, read, learn, and speak. Physically able to lift up to 30 Pounds occasionally. Ability to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in Production areas. Ability to drive a vehicle legally and safely in performance of the position requirements. Ability to work in other departments to gather needed information to perform job requirements.
