Job Details
The Cost Accountant will develop and reconcile inventory and cost standards, including production and overhead costs. The ideal candidate will track and evaluate day-to-day activities including establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information.
- Assist in period end cost analysis and reporting, including product margin analyses.
- Determine cost standards for materials and labor.
- Assist in designing and implementing cost accounting systems.
- Analyze production costs and recommend cost-savings measures.
- Analyze and monitor inventory balances and reconciliations at month-end.
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Assist in completing annual audits with Controller.
- Meet financial accounting objectives.
- Maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
- Assist in overseeing annual physical inventory.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant or Senior Accountant.
- Expert computer skills on the MS Office platform specifically MS Excel and advanced knowledge of enterprise accounting software (ERP) and databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and product analysis / reports.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting or relevant field.
Highly Desirable:
- Cost accounting or 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, ERP inventory management or inventory valuation.
