About the Job
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of cost data for material, labor, overhead, and outside processing costs under standard cost accounting methods.
- Create and maintain standard costs on all parts.
- Run inventory reports as needed to support the manufacturing team's analysis of manufacturing variances.
- Participate in projects and assignments to support the department's goals.
- Assist in the monthly close process to include (but not be limited to): Reconciling inventory accounts; analyzing purchase Price Variance and Material Usage Variance; Preparing financial reports to be used by the finance and manufacturing teams; Reviewing and explaining manufacturing department spending variances to prior year and forecast; Prepare month-end inventory journal entries and others as necessary.
- Assist with the maintenance of accounting systems and processes. Contribute ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, processes, and procedures.
- Provide Customer Service with updates on transfer pricing following transfer price methodology.
- Manage annual physical inventory counts and audit the daily cycle counting processes.
- Responsible for the annual standard cost update process.
- Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
- Assist in preparing forecasts and annual operating plans for the region.
Additional duties:

Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
- CPA or CMA credentials a plus.
- Three to five years of cost experience with a manufacturing company.
- Prior experience with cost accounting and inventory systems (SAP, Oracle). IFS is a plus.
- HFM, Hyperion, or FCC (SmartView)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of and experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting systems, and processes.
- Strong knowledge of Standard Costing in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Communication: Excellent oral, written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation
- Excellent attention to details
- Work Skills: Solid working knowledge of assigned market segment/industry; Excellent project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
