Cost Accountant
Job Purpose:
SCI Division, located in Huntsville, AL, is looking for a Cost Accountant to support its operations.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing the cost of production, track inventory
balances and calculate overhead cost. This individual will also help to reconcile balance sheet
accounts and billing/AR disputes.
Nature of Work and Responsibilities
- Performing various types of financial and cost analysis (variance,account, etc)
- Preparing system generated and ad hoc reports
- Assisting with month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Aid Financial Analyst with GOVT billings
- Ensuring adherence to company accounting policies and FAR regulations
- Maintain and reconcile freight charges monthly
- Prepare documents for audit selections
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of Accounting experience
Computer skills to include Excel, Microsoft Word, Google sheets/mail
Prior experience with Oracle would be helpful but not required
Proficient on 10 key
