Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: Lansing, MI
Compensation: $60,000-$70,000
Schedule: M-F On Site

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our client's team in Lansing, MI. This role involves preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements using advanced accounting principles and complex analysis techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting activities and will contribute to our client's financial operations with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, to reflect the organization’s financial position.
• Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Oversee accounting operations or complex segments of the accounting function, coordinating with other departments as needed.
• Handle complex accounting issues and provide solutions
• Provide leadership and mentoring to subordinate staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in accounting, with a focus on advanced complex analysis.
• Familiarity with cost accounting principles is preferred; however, traditional manufacturing cost accounting experience is not required.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle complex issues effectively.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
