Job Details
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and categorize financial data to establish and sustain standard cost and perpetual inventory systems.
Set benchmarks for raw material costs, labor routings, and roll-ups, offering insights for cost-efficiency enhancements.
Execute various accounting duties, adhering to established procedures for preparing and managing accounting records.
Maintain meticulous and orderly records management practices.
Undertake specialized projects related to cost monitoring and estimation.
Develop the annual manufacturing facility budget, analyze monthly spending reports against budgeted figures, and discuss discrepancies with the plant manager.
Provide support to plant management.
Oversee monthly Cycle Counts for inventory accuracy.
Manage Year-End inventory files, assisting auditors during perpetual and non-perpetual audits.
Monitor non-perpetual inventory for adjustments in month-end quantities and assess the transition to perpetual status.
Evaluate inventory to determine updates to Obsolete status or the need for Inventory Disposal Requests (IDRs).
Compile and maintain daily production records at both plant and corporate levels.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Proficiency in technical accounting skills and accepted accounting principles.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with colleagues, auditors, vendors, and customers.
Familiarity with JDEdwards and MS Excel; experience with product knowledge beneficial for completing IDR and SPR requests.
EDUCATION:
A two-year accounting degree paired with relevant accounting experience or a four-year accounting degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of previous manufacturing experience in cost accounting preferred.
