Cost Accountant - Permanent - Now CFO

We are seeking a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our clients team on a permanent basis. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate costing of products, materials, shipping, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing manufacturing costs related to operations, equipment, availability and utilizations in order to provide insights to help improve efficiency.
• Maintain cost accounting systems and cost ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports.
• Work closely with the production team to understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of cost data.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize cost allocation and pricing strategies.
• Assist with implementing cost policies and procedures for the accounting department.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
• 2-3 years of hands-on cost accounting principles and practices.
• Strong familiarity with manufacturing operations along with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in ERP system software and Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPS.
• Excellent analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
