Senior Cost Accountant
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or maintaining the cost accounting system. We are seeking an innovative, driven, and motivated Senior Cost Accountant that has over seven years of experience within the manufacturing industry. This individual needs to have strong data extrapolation and reconciliation skills, and the ability to analyze manufacturing variances on a daily and monthly basis. This role will require up to 5% international travel. The role is aimed at the development and succession planning for the Cost Accounting Manager.

Your Challenge:
+ Prepares month end journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, determine inventory reserve requirements.
+ Collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed.
+ Prepares cost and inventory report statements, manufacturing operations variance reporting and inventory analysis and forecasting.
+ Supports and reviews analysis, preparation and reporting of Customer quotes, for Farris Projects.
+ Produces weekly margin, manufacturing variances and inventory analysis and reporting.
+ Lead monthly meetings with internal customers to provide cost/inventory reporting interpretation, action requirements and or control/policy obligations.
+ Annual Cost Roll coordination, preparation and implementation.
+ Lead and or support annual Farris Group physical inventories that include on-site implementation (Canada, U.K., China and US).
+ Other ad hoc and special reporting related to cost and inventory.
Your Expertise:
+ Knowledge of cost accounting principles in a standard cost environment and project costing.
+ 4+ years of Cost Accounting experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
+ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
+ Ability to apply corporate accounting guidelines in addition to GAAP.
+ Experience in ERP system required. Exposure to LN ERP system a strong plus.
+ Sense of urgency task performance.
+ Strong critical thinking / analytical skills.
+ Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office software required especially Excel.
+ Strong communication (written and oral), organization and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to set priorities, work independently, and bring issues to resolution.
+ International travel required (up to 5%).
