Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Analyst for work on a schedule that require some regular weekly meeting attendance in the Stafford, VA area. The Cost Analyst position will include, but not be limited to, the following capabilities:
- Lead, develop, update, and apply mathematical and logical methodologies to cost estimates.
- Lead, develop, update, manipulate, and maintain cost and affordability models.
- Lead efforts in collecting, normalizing, and analyzing complex data.
- Build and defend budget requirements.
- Forecast future funding needs.
- Evaluate contracting strategy and courses of action.
- Conduct planning for acquisition of capabilities.
- Identify sustainment cost impacts of acquisition decisions.
- Identify interface maintenance funding requirements for all affected platforms/systems.
- Write both detailed technical documents and easily-understood summary materials for briefings to management at the executive and oversight levels.
- Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet organizational and project goals.
- Have a strong understanding of the Department of Navy (DoN) Acquisition process.
- Lead in the preparation of briefing materials and other communications packages presenting the results of analysis.
- Communicate and work with diverse organizations and representatives for data collection, analysis, and results presentation.
- Understand the customer mission
- Address business challenges with creative problem solving
Required Education/Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics.
- US Citizenship is required.
- 2 or more years of DoD cost estimating experience Certified Cost Estimator / Analyst (CCEA) ACAT IA.
- Automated Information Systems and experience estimating software project cost and schedule.
- Cost estimating experience with large-scale IT and ERP systems within DoD.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with uncertainty/risk software packages like Crystal Ball or SEER for IT.
- Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision.
- Possession of excellent data gathering and analytical skills.
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Education/Qualifications:
- An Active Secret Clearance (or higher) is preferred.
