The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an experienced Cost Control/Construction Accountant. Responsibilities include providing the federal client with professional on-site facility, and project management services across a variety of small to large-scale construction projects. Projects may include space upgrades or modification/reconfiguration of spaces to meet the mission needs of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage an assigned portfolio of projects while addressing challenges related:
- Construction cost management, tracking of funds, and Budgeting.
- Financial analysis, economic analysis, report production.
- Project administration, program management, database management.
Required Experience & Skills
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial/government facility construction project management relating to:
- Financial analysis using excel spreadsheets, including formulas and formats.
- Experience with cost controls and financial cost tracking
- Experience with database software and report production
- Experience developing and evaluating economic analysis
- Experience developing and evaluating construction project cost estimates and tracking funds.
- SharePoint Database management and design
- Ability to pass a DHS “suitability” background investigation is a requirement
Preferred Experience & Skills
- CPA, PMP, and federal government accounting experience highly desired.
- Experience managing complex new construction or major renovation commercial/government building projects with experience managing simultaneous construction and/or building projects
- Ability to work independently, in groups, and in a stressful environment
Preferred Education
- An accounting, business, finance, or construction management bachelor’s degree (civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural, etc) from an accredited University recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
