Workforce Solutions partners directly with teams looking to hire top talent. We are currently working with a family-owned manufacturing company looking for an experienced Costing Estimator to join their Madison, WI team.
What's the role?
The Costing Estimator is responsible for estimating material, labor, and associated costs from receipt of project drawings to the final proposal. Candidates will also be responsible for interim and post job studies. This task will be accomplished through a strong team spirit, exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and an extensive knowledge of material and manufacturing process. Knowledge of store fixtures, P.O.P displays is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Create material takeoffs and labor estimates according to sketches or engineering specification
- Research and specify materials to be used on products
- Create costing documentation
- Analyze actual labor, material and cost against costing and labor reports
- Interact with Design Engineers to ensure accuracy of BOM (bill of materials)
- Review BOMs to ensure they reflect latest manufacturing practices
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree and 1-2 years experience or equivalent combination
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Excellent oral, written and mathematical skills
- Works well under pressure to hit tight deadlines when necessary
- Exposure to manufacturing, costing, reporting and variance analysis is a must
- Possess extensive knowledge of materials and processes
- Able to read and accurately interpret complex drawings and specifications.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft software
- Proficient in AutoCAD a plus

What will my schedule look like?
This salaried role generally works onsite during office hours Monday-Friday 8a-5p.

Processes include large format printing, silk screening, CNC machining, vacuum forming, edge banding, finishing, plastic fabrication, custom/studio work, assembly and packaging, warehouse, and shipping.
