HealthWorks Rehabilitation and Fitness in Morgantown, WV has been the inpatient rehabilitation provider for Mon Health more than 25 years. This is a 188 bed inpatient hospital seeking local PRN or per diem occupational therapy assistants (COTA) for as needed coverage.  We have a large multidisciplinary clinical team in need of coverage for vacation, sick, census influx or emergencies. There is no set schedule with PRN/ per diem. We are looking to build a local per diem pool of inpatient occupational therapy assistants. Our hospital is open year-long including most holidays.

Position Summary

Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

We are unable to offer PTO or medical benefits if you are working less than 32 hours but we CAN discuss your participation in our local and virtual CEU accrediting courses once you are on board.

• Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
• Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
• Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
• Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies

• Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
• National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Valid state driver’s license
