Position Overview:
The Clinical Director of the Counseling Center at M.O.C. provides leadership, supervision, and clinical oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health and substance use services. This role focuses on managing the clinical aspects of care, supervising staff performance, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Clinical Director will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations to ensure seamless integration of clinical services, efficient use of resources, and effective service delivery, while working with other departments to drive strategic initiatives, improve client outcomes, and contribute to the overall success of the clinic.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to a multidisciplinary team of therapists, counselors, social workers, and case managers.
- Lead efforts to develop, implement, and evaluate clinic policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of clinical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and high standards of care.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Ensure high-quality behavioral health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and case management, are delivered in line with best practices.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations to ensure that clinical documentation, workflows, and processes comply with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
- Review client cases regularly to ensure treatment plans are effective and make adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
- Program Development & Quality Improvement:
- Work with the leadership team and the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations to identify community needs and develop new programs or services that align with the clinic’s mission.
- Lead efforts in quality improvement, including performance metrics, clinical audits, and client satisfaction surveys.
- Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in behavioral health to enhance clinic services.
- Collaboration & Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including hospitals, community organizations, and other healthcare providers, to ensure continuity of care and community integration.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations to strengthen partnerships and streamline service delivery.
- Represent the clinic in public forums and professional meetings to enhance visibility and foster partnerships.
- Collaboration with Senior Director of Healthcare Operations:
- Work closely with the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations to ensure that clinical services are aligned with operational goals, including resource allocation, scheduling, and service expansion.
- Assist the Senior Director of Healthcare Operations in developing and implementing workflows that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery while maintaining a focus on patient care and outcomes.
Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and integrated care models.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in program development, quality improvement, and community outreach is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both clinical and operations teams.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical practice and organizational culture.
Supervisory Responsibilities/ Key Relationships:
- Collaborates closely with their clinical supervisors and members of Leadership including the Chief Program Officer.
- Supervises a team of clinical professionals and provides limited supervision to interns.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (PhD, PsyD, or LCSW preferred).
- Licensed to practice as a clinical professional (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LPC, etc.) in Massachusetts.
- 5 years of clinical experience in a behavioral health setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

Work Hours, Working Styles, and Additional Benefits:
- This is a hybrid position with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office located in Fitchburg, MA.
- Hours of work are flexible but must be available during normal business hours.
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
Compensation:
A salary within the range of $78,200 - $105,800 will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the Making Opportunity Count compensation philosophy. The candidate’s exact placement will be determined based on factors consistent with Making Opportunity Count’s compensation framework.
