DESCRIPTION

Alternate Perspectives, Incorporated (API) has an immediate opening for a Counseling Supervisor at one of our operated Job Corps Locations. If you want to be a part of dynamic team that helps young people ages 16-24-years-old, this job is for you! You will be a part of the nation’s most successful youth training and education program, Job Corps, for the past 60 years.

As Counseling Supervisor , you will be responsible for providing guidance, direction, and support to all staff in the counseling and career preparation departments. You will lead initiatives to ensure efficient and effective operations while helping to develop and sustain a positive and caring environment for our students. You will ensure staff follow all regulatory compliance and guidelines while providing the highest quality care to our clients. You will also be responsible for fostering an environment of professional development and growth for all staff members of the counseling department. Your knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence will be essential to the success of the department.

Some Additional Essential Functions:

1. Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training, and recommend and implement departmental changes as approved by the career training services director and coordinated with the manager, human resources prior to implementation.
2. Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies affecting counseling; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
4. Monitor all department standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure procedures are kept up to date as changes occur.
5. Review and audit required percent of active student files monthly to ensure policy requirement compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare and submit related reports.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree including 15 hours of social sciences related instruction with two years experience in counseling or related field and two years experience working with youth and young adults. One year supervisory experience preferred; excellent written and verbal communication and computer proficiency required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
