About the Job
- Under the direct supervision of the Employee pharmacy pharmacist, accurately operates the cash register for collection of cash and charges on prescriptions.
- Must reconcile/record monies, trouble shoot register problems.
- Accurately and efficiently place prescriptions ready for sale/pickup into the hanging bag system.
- Accurately perform prescription intake process.
- Request updated patient contact information and allergies when Pioneer RX system indicates.
- Maintains a clean, orderly work station.
- Refers complaints and issues to Pharmacist for resolution.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
- Assist the pharmacist in all duties related to the delivery and distribution of medications.
- Delivers medications to patient care areas or run other errands as needed.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.

- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work area.
- Demonstrates knowledge of sales clerk/cashier duties, ability to run cash register, make change as needed and balance at end of shift.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of Pioneer RX system as it relates to cashier duties.
- Demonstrates ability to answer phone and take messages.
- Demonstrates ability to follow direction of pharmacist.
- Demonstrates ability to accurately and efficiently place prescriptions ready for sale/pickup into hanging bag system.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Work Experience:
None - On the job training provided
Mental Demands:
Must deal with customers in a friendly and helpful manner even when customers are difficult to deal with.
