Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project is looking for new team members to join Hampton Roads Connector Partners (HRCP).
The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of Dragados, VINCI, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.8bn Design Build project –the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The project scope across a 9 mile section of the I-64 will include: a new 3.5-mile bridge-tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I-64 in each direction. The twin 45’ diameter 1.5-mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America. The project is expected to continue to the end of 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Without Supervision must be able to set up and perform crane oiling tasks
- Climbing ladders/scaffolds/structures
- Crawling, crouching, working in confined spaces
- Lifting 50+ lbs, pushing/pulling heavy loads
- Working at heights above ground level
- Clean, oil, fuel, and make sure cranes are ready for work.
- Perform daily inspections & maintenance on equipment
- Take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown and operation of crane
- Demonstrate a continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide a quality customer service.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations creating a safe working environment.
- Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
- Complete needed site and area inspections
- Remove debris
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs
- Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications
- Assist other craft workers
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass drug screen.
- Candidates with High School Diploma are strongly preferred
- Previous oiler, signalling and/or rigging training preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of crane oiling preferred
- Experienced construction employees are strongly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge preferred
- Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively
- Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Must demonstrate attention to details
- Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
