About the Job
The Crane Shop Service Technician is responsible for performing safe, professional, high-quality, and timely inspections, diagnosis, repair, loading/unloading, make-ready, and maneuvering of cranes and related equipment primarily in a shop environment. Work will be performed alone or in teams to provide high-quality mechanical services that meet customers’ needs and achieve organizational and departmental objectives.
Essential Functions:
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
Responds to customers’ needs in a professional and urgent manner, satisfying their requirements and meeting organizational and departmental objectives.
Inspects and diagnoses cranes and related equipment technical problems in a professional, accurate, efficient, and timely manner to satisfy customers’
Prepares cranes and related equipment for service work utilizing proper safety procedures (locks, blocking, lock-out procedures, etc.) to avoid injury.
Removes and replaces crane and related equipment components utilizing required technical data and procedures to repair equipment to organization and industry standards.
Maintains technical proficiency through self-study and/or successful completion of required training courses to increase job related competencies.
Maintain and control company property and resources in a manner to ensure safety, cleanliness, reliability, and minimal expense.
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

Education and Experience:

Less than 10% travel is expected each year

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbs up and down ladders and/or equipment
Be able to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
Regularly works outdoor and indoor around moving mechanical parts
May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and full sun.
Noise level may be loud at times, and proper PPE will be required such as in ear, ear plugs or over the ear protection
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
