The Manager I Credentialing role is responsible for directly overseeing the credentialing process function and successfully leading within the XCS Credentialing Team. This role requires an understanding of processing credentialing applications, performing primary source verification's, and updating and maintaining the credentialing database in accordance with internal policies and procedures, client health plan contracts and applicable state and federal requirements. The Manager I Credentialing role is responsible for the engagement and development of their direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and accreditation standards.
- Provide guidance and training to team members involved in the credentialing process.
- Participates in hiring, training, development, and retention of the credentialing team.
- Creates a team where transparent practices leader everything we do! Encourage others to do their best to help the division achieve its objectives by sharing ideas, supporting peer successes through critical feedback, and providing mentorship opportunities to promote an engaged and unified team
- Sets proper expectations and follows through on performance goals with direct reports.
- Participate in team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work product quality and efficiency and supports the overall strategy of the division.
- Keeps senior management informed of potential credentialing or enrollment issues.
Qualifications
- Familiarity using payor websites including but not limited to CAQH, Pecos, NPI/NPPES, Availity, CMS I&A
- Familiar with payor enrollment process for all levels of licensure including but not limited to MD/DO, NP, PhD, PT, OT, LCSW, OD, DDS, DPM, etc. across all specialties including medical, dental, vision, behavioral health and physical health
- Experience should include responsibility for medical and professional credentialing processes, policies and procedures and delegated credentialing requirements.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written correspondence
- Able to work well under tight deadlines and respond to rapidly changing demands and provide efficient follow up - becoming a true change manager on the team and embracing this.
- Detail oriented with ability to recognize vital information from credentialing documents.
- Demonstrate problem-solving, critical thinking, and deductive reasoning skills.
- Capable and comfortable dealing with sensitive and confidential information with discretion and trust
- Experience in people leadership, preferred 3+ experience.
- Associate degree; or, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Preferred minimum of 3 years' experience in provider credentialing in a healthcare setting
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
