Duties include but are not limited to Verifying the Authenticity of identity documents and following the Port Authority procedures for ID processing and issuance. Able to review security identification applications Knowledge of verifying SIDA certificates.
Responsible for observing and reporting suspicious behavior. Enforce rules and regulations as set forth by the Port Authority bulletins, Manuals, etc. Familiarize themselves with all Credentialing Office orders. Access control
- At JFK the Credentialing Office Specialist shall report to the Tour Supervisor. The IDOS shall assist Port Authority staff with the issuance of Airport ID Cards to employees authorized to receive them.
- Verify the authenticity of identity documents. Print/Create Airport ID Cards, only after approval is given by the Manager. Follow Port Authority procedures for ID Card processing and issuance.
- Review all security identification applications for appropriate written documentation as set forth in the Port Authority Authorized Signatory guidelines. Operate computer equipment and specialized software. Perform fingerprinting.
- Maintain a current list of all active Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) trainers and assist them as required by the Manager. Assisting other contract trainers in the preparation and follow-ups required for the SIDA courses at JFK and EWR.
- Verify all SIDA certificates. Handle all administrative tasks as required by the Manager. Instantly report any breaches or fires to PAPD. Maintaining an operationally efficient post and helping people who require assistance or information provided do not distract from or prevent the successful completion of security services.
- Supervise and ensure compliance with Port Authority and federal rules and regulations regarding the identification of personnel and vehicles accessing the AOA. Reporting to appropriate parties (e.g., immediate supervisor, Manager, etc.) hazardous conditions, including but not limited to ice, snow conditions, holes in fences, defective lighting and/or light outages, opened, unlocked, or broken gates, and sounding alarms.
- Maintain a log of activity occurring during the tour making particular note of unusual incidents or activity.
- Dress in uniform at all times while on duty.
Requirements
Must be able to pass a computer competency test
Must possess a valid NYS Security guard License
Basic knowledge of computer applications and operating systems Computer knowledge and software
Excellent communication skills
Strong administrative skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Type minimum 30 WPM
Previous Airport Security experience preferred
