The Credit Admin – Business Risks and Controls Intern will be a member of a centralized Credit Admin risk team with a diverse background in financial institution risk and compliance. This individual will assist his/her team in the execution of a variety of risk programs, which may include Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), Control Assurance, SOX Compliance, Regulatory Remediation, Compliance Testing, and/or other specialized projects. The primary responsibility of this role is to be willing to learn quickly and ask questions as you are exposed to new risk concepts. This role will partner with business owners, IT owners and audit teams and play a critical role in the successful delivery of the Company’s Risk Programs.
Essential functions:
- Assists in the execution of Business Unit RCSA refresh activities via walkthrough participating/detailed note taking, policy review/analysis, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) system updates and control inventory effective challenge.
- Collaborates with the Operational Risk Management team in the execution of control assurance testing, including tracking of testing progress/preparing status updates, targeted review of testing, walkthrough participation, etc.
- Assists in the alignment of the 2025 SOX program across legacy institutions. This may include reconciling control activities across business units or between GRC tools.
- Assist team members and business owners to design controls that are efficient and address expected requirements, such as having management review checklists, process flowcharts, or documentation related to information provided by entities (e.g. spreadsheets reports, queries and code logic).
- Assists in the execution of the compliance testing program. This may include performing initial compliance testing (with training/oversight from team leadership), regulatory mapping activities and assisting in the development of business unit procedures.
- Monitors and updates the status of open issues and manages them through closure
- Consults with business / IT units and project implementation teams on internal controls during Company initiatives and special projects.
- Partners with business / IT owners in the assessment of control issues and help them articulate the root cause, analyze the actual and potential impact, develop correction plans, and conclude on final assessment.

* Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship.
* Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internship

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 years of experience
- Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during time of summer program)
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program
