POSITION SUMMARY
Directly responsible for the following:
- Compiling, reviewing and evaluating information obtained from potential credit customers to assess credit risk and assign a credit limit.
- Managing all facets of the key account portfolio, including customer relationships, resolving disputes and collecting receivables.
- Assisting the Credit Manager with the day-to-day credit department activities and manager reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Process credit applications
- Research trade and bank references given on credit applications.
- Run credit reports as needed.
- Read and understand terms and conditions of contracts and the implications of crossing out terms and conditions on Holt’s credit application and other agreements.
- Enforce department policies and procedures to maximize customer collections and minimize credit risk while maintaining customer business relationships.
- Display the ability to evaluate all pertinent credit information, including financial statements and other financial information to assess credit risk. Use judgment to assess the need to obtain more information as credit risk increases.
- Establish credit limitations on customer accounts based on the assessment of collection risk.
- Use judgment to leverage all financing tools available to meet the needs of our customers. Propose down payment requirements, payment plans, extended terms, CAT finance options, etc.
- Display the skills necessary to manage all aspects of collecting Holt’s key customer accounts. Including, reconciling accounts, resolving short payments, addressing disputed charges and recommending further collection actions to the Credit Manager.
- Schedule regular meetings with key customers to ensure customer needs are met.
- Display Excel skills to prepare account reconciliation’s, management reports and other analysis to support the department objectives.
- Display the ability to multitask, prioritize and delegate when necessary.
- Written and verbal communication must be clear and concise with both internal and external customers.
- Display leadership skills to supervise day-to-day department activities, field questions, and resolve disputes.
- Knowledge of California lien laws with a construction industry background is preferred but a well-rounded background in the credit and collections process is required.
- While not having direct supervisory responsibility the position will assist the credit manager with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent from a four-year college plus three to five years related experience and/or training. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of algebra and statistics.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid California driver’s license and clean DMV report.

COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $29.80 - $32.69 Hourly
Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
