Hours and Branch:
The hours for this position are 8:00-5:00 with flexibility if needed.
The primary work location for this position will be in our Wardsville branch but we could be open to some flexibility in another branch for the right candidate.
Job Summary:
The credit analyst analyzes financial and other information to determine risk involved in lending money to commercial/residential/consumer customers. Ensures lending guidelines and policies are compliant and prepares loan presentations and loan reviews by performing the following duties. Helps maintain current financial data.
Essential Functions:
- Enter, update, and retrieve information for credit applications
- Analyze tax returns, financial statements, and credit data to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
- Prepare reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
- Designate the degree of risk involved in extending credit by performing spreads and cash flow analysis of business
- Generate financial ratios, using computer programs to evaluate customer's financial status
- Ensure all approved applications comply with laws, regulations, or lending guidelines
- Review individual or commercial customer files to identify risks, compliance, or lending guidelines
- Compare liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of establishments being evaluated with those of similar establishments in the same industries and geographic locations
- Review and analyze adequacy of collateral, including collateral pool assessment, assigning proper loan-to-value margins, etc.
- Analyze, assess, and review independent appraisals.
- Contribute to the construction inspection process to ensure inspections are completed in a timely manner and identify potential risks.
- Respond to inquiries from lenders
- Assist with company exams & audits
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- Prefer 3-5 years of previous experience
- Years of experience maybe substituted for education requirements or related work experience
- This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This included computer skills, communication skills, as well as utilization of office equipment with an emphasis on spreadsheets (Excel) and use of technology to facilitate automated and paperless processes.
