POSITION SUMMARY
Maximize collection of accounts receivable while maintaining customer goodwill by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews aging reports on accounts receivable to determine appropriate collection efforts.
- Receives detailed information stored in computer regarding outstanding invoices and credits.
- Reconciles customer accounts. Investigates and resolves short payments and disputed charges.
- Creates extended payment contracts as approved by Credit Manager.
- Handles all small claims proceedings including filing and follow up.
- Seeks input from other departments when necessary.
- Discusses initial customers contact strategy with supervisor based on retrieved facts.
- Initiates written and phone communication with internal and external parties.
- Explains terms and provisions on both open accounts and contracts.
- Advises supervisor of additional action required (i.e., legal small claims) on a case specific basis.
- Collects delinquent accounts.
- Evaluates customer records and makes recommendations on customer accounts by viewing for extending credit limit, pursuing other collection actions based on payment history and purchase activity of customer or confers with representatives of credit associations and other businesses to exchange information concerning credit ratings and forwarding addresses.
- Interviews customers in person or by telephone to investigate complaints, or to correct errors in accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel and Proprietary Time Value software.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply to specific cases the provisions of laws and rules, or regulations enforced or administered; deal with people tactfully; prepare reports; analyze situations accurately and take effective action.
- Knowledge of methods used and remedies available for collection of delinquent accounts; investigative techniques and sources of information used in locating persons; provisions of the Civil Code relating to the collection of account; and competence in basic business math calculations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver’s license.

COMPENSATION
Pay Range: $24.00 - $30.00 Hourly
Pay Range Dependent on Knowledge, Skills, and Ability.
Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
