Position Overview:
As a Crew Chief at IHOP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant. You will oversee the performance of team members, maintain high standards of service, and contribute to creating a positive dining experience for our guests. Your leadership and organizational skills will be instrumental in achieving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate team members, ensuring they adhere to IHOP’s policies and procedures. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to maintain a high level of performance and professionalism.
- Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service. Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally. Ensure that all guests have a positive experience at IHOP.
- Operational Efficiency: Coordinate and oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house activities during the shift. Monitor the flow of guests and ensure efficient table turnover. Maintain cleanliness and organization standards throughout the restaurant.
- Quality Control: Ensure that food and beverage quality meets IHOP’s standards. Monitor food preparation, presentation, and timing to deliver consistent quality to our guests.
- Financial Accountability: Assist in controlling costs through effective management of inventory, labor, and other restaurant expenses. Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold health and safety standards to provide a safe working environment for team members and guests. Ensure compliance with local health regulations and IHOP’s policies.
- Shift Management: Manage shift schedules effectively to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak and non-peak hours. Coordinate breaks and rotations to optimize team performance.
- Communication: Foster open communication between team members, management, and kitchen staff to enhance teamwork and collaboration. Keep the management informed of any issues or concerns that may impact operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the restaurant industry, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Education and Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education or training in hospitality management or related fields is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
