The Landscape Crew Foreperson plays a critical role in working with and supervising a crew of up to 5 employees across approximately 10 sites. This role trains new and current employees, most of whom have disabilities, to ensure success on the landscaping team. Driving and being present on the worksite is an essential function of this role.
HOW YOU KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT FOR THE ROLE:
- You have a minimum of 3 years relevant technical landscaping experience in leadership roles
- You have an Oregon or Washington Commercial Pesticide Applicators license (required to spray any pesticides)
- You have great English communication skills to read and understand contract specifications and landscape frequency charts, and manage/train employees
- You enjoy working alongside your team to ensure weeding, raking, mowing, etc. is complete
- You always come to work on time
- You really enjoy paying attention to details and you're great at it
- You're good at training others to be successful
- You know how to build a great team and keep them motivated!
- You have reliable transportation, insurance and a clean driving record
- You are willing and able to pass a background check
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will directly work with and manage a team of up to 5 employees with disabilities to care for approx. 6-12 worksites to ensure our customer's needs are met
- The work can include physical tasks such as weeding, raking, mowing, carrying heavy materials and perform tasks that require licenses for spraying or other certifications
- You ensure tasks assigned by the supervisor are complete by delegating or performing them
- You train employees to ensure proper use of equipment and safety
- You ensure paperwork is completed correctly at the end of each day
- You may drive a company vehicle with a loaded trailer
- You communicate with the supervisor about safety issues, employee needs, etc.

- Three years previous landscape experience in the specific field of work is required
- Identify with having a disability or significant condition
- Prior leadership and field training experience
- Oregon or Washington Commercial Pesticide Applicators license is required to spray any pesticides
- Must have reliable form of transportation to job
- Be able to communicate effectively through written or verbal skills
- Must be able to read and understand contract specifications and landscape frequency charts
- Valid driver's license and reliable automobile, safe driving record and insurance coverage acceptable to RR's insurance carrier
- CPR and First aid certifications
- Ability to pass drug screening and criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment
