Crew Member Job Description:
We are looking for a qualified and responsible Crew Member/Cashier to manage all transactions with our guests efficiently and accurately.
A good job candidate is a person who knows their way around a cash register and can easily operate it. Their main responsibilities include taking orders, preparing food, stocking the line, accepting payments, providing receipts, making sure all transactions run smoothly and every guest is satisfied with the service and the dining room and line are clean and in good order.
The Crew Member we would like to employ must be able to interact with our guests in a friendly manner, and provide assistance should anyone require it. Excellent communication skills are paramount to help us continue to delight our guests and provide them with an outstanding experience.
A qualified candidate must also be able to follow instructions and be a successful member of our team. Previous experience is an advantage, and solid math and multitasking skills are a must.
Responsibilities of a Crew Member:
- Greeting customers when entering and leaving the premises
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen area, dining room, restrooms, and service area
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and resolving complaints
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Managing transactions using a cash register
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
- Entering orders and making sure pricing and quantities are accurate
- Accepting payments in cash and credit card transactions
- Providing change and receipts
- Alerting managers of any returns and refunds, and resolving customer complaints
- Bagging and wrapping purchased goods for safe transport
- Take out trash whenever necessary
- Upselling and cross-selling when appropriate
Crew Member Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred
- Experience with POS systems and cash registers
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic culinary knowledge and understanding of food preparation techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for cash handling and inventory management
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively resolve complaints

When Luke Christian left his rural South Georgia home for college, he never imagined that one day he would come home to open a restaurant. Bringing together big taste and bold flavors with the Southern hospitality of his youth, Luke opened his first restaurant in Douglas, GA during 2007, serving freshly prepared Tex-Mex favorites.
Surcheros quickly became a community favorite, a place where they remembered your order and your name. It wasn’t long before others heard about this concept and desired one to open in their town. Luke, and his beautiful wife, Nicole, began to dream big and shared a vision of expansion.
In 2017, franchising Surcheros restaurants began with a complete remodel and updated branding, while staying true to their original convictions. By the end of 2020, Surcheros had quickly grown to 18 locations, with plans to build a flagship restaurant and corporate headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
Based on this idea, and a desire to become a nationally visible brand, Luke and Nicole moved their family to Alpharetta, where they currently reside. They are so excited to continue their success, expanding the reach of Surcheros to North Georgia. Luke, Nicole and the entire Surcheros family cannot wait to serve the Alpharetta community and many, many more.
