More than 12,000 youth and young adults have benefitted from our unique program, and over 1,500 have received a high school diploma while working with us. Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Crew Supervisor III Irrigation Tech is responsible for the day-to-day direction and training of a crew of 2-14 young adults, aged 18-26 years, in a variety of work and educational activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Corpsmember Supervision:
- Supervise, direct and coordinate new corpsmember orientation and lead or facilitate job training.
- Maintain discipline, positive crew moral, build teamwork and cooperation among crewmembers and ensure that the rules and regulations of the CCLB are upheld.
- Maintain corpsmember management report
Landscaping
- maintain landscape in private, public, and commercial areas.
- small-scale plant and crop cultivation
Work Project Implementation:
- Supervise crew in the completion of conservation and recycling projects which might include building refurbishment, tree planting, landscaping, litter abatement, graffiti removal and prevention, neighborhood improvement, historical preservation, park development and maintenance.
- Responsible for safe work practices, proper use of and maintenance of tools, vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with the responsibility of corpsmember weekly schedule
- Responsible for quality control of work.
Training and Instruction:
- Conduct corpsmember training and instructional presentations or workshops in such areas as recycling, First Aid/CPR, safety, driver training, tool safety, environmental education or other areas related to project work or program goals.
- Teach corps skills, encourage the development of good work habits, conservation, practices and teamwork.
- Crewleader, ACL and driver training.
Reporting Procedures:
- Prepare corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of crewmember attendance, participation and work hours.
- Conduct regular crew and individual recycling meetings to discuss corpsmember progress.
- Counsel, motivate and discipline individual corpsmembers as appropriate. Participate in staff and corpsmember meetings.
- Assist with preparation project reports by way of uploading statistical information and work project photos.
Moving Specialist:
- Management and coordination of relocation of offices from one location to another. This includes the disassembly of partitions and/or furniture and its reassembly.
- Removal of discarded furniture and transportation to appropriate location of disposal.
Building Maintenance:
- Building repairs not limited to electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
Driving/ Vehicle Inspection:
- The Supervisor III position requires a Valid California Driver's License and a clean driver's record.
- Ability to competently prevent and report vehicle issues through proper inspection and reporting.
Reporting Procedures:
- Prepare oral and written reports of purchases, maintenance schedules, expenses, corpsmember evaluations, incident reports and documentation of corpsmember attendance, participation and work hours.
- Counsel, motivate and discipline individual corpsmembers as appropriate.
- Participate in staff and corpsmember meetings.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some experience installing, maintaining or using systems for monitored application of water to grow landscapes.
- Knowledge of principles of safety, use of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of methods of group instruction and motivation.
- Ability to properly discipline corpsmembers, keep records, prepare reports and communicate effectively with young adults under the supervision of a supervisor.
- Three years or more of experience in working with young adults from a diverse social and ethnic background.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Some college or special training in vocational or trade skills
- 2-3 years of experience installing maintaining, or using systems for monitored application of water to grow landscapes.
- Valid Landscape Irrigation Contractor License
- Class C Driver's License with Endorsement or Class B Driver's License
- Corps experience of one year or more at CCLB or similar organization.
Other Duties and Requirements:
- Must be able to perform physical exercises, heavy lifting and manual labor.
- DMV print-out, Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement (effective July 2017) or Class B Driver's license (or able to obtain within 30 days of employment) and First Aid/CPR certification is required as a condition of employment (or within 30 days of employment).

Salary and Benefits:
- $23.23-$27.88 per hour (Salary Grade 15) (reflects the entire pay range) based on a level of experience and education that exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale (salary range).
