Alexandra Lozano Immigration Law, PLLC, a leading law firm specializing in humanitarian immigration law, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Criminal Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both criminal defense and immigration law, with a focus on cases where these areas intersect.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing complex legal challenges, particularly those at risk of deportation due to criminal charges or convictions.
This is an onsite job in Tukwila, WA
Responsibilities:- Provide legal representation to clients in removal defense, particularly in cases involving criminal charges or convictions.
- Handle a variety of criminal immigration matters, including but not limited to, post-conviction relief, investigations, legal research and advice on immigration consequences of a criminal record.
- Advise clients on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions and plea agreements.
- Prepare and file motions, briefs, and appeals in both criminal and immigration courts.
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration law, particularly as it pertains to criminal matters.
- Advocate for clients in court, at hearings, and in negotiations with prosecutors and immigration authorities.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents as necessary.
- Provide legal representation to clients in removal defense, particularly in cases involving criminal charges or convictions.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing law, with significant experience in criminal defense and/or immigration law
- Strong knowledge of the intersection of criminal law and immigration law, particularly in relation to removal proceedings and the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
- Proven experience representing clients in criminal and immigration courts.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high volume caseload.
- Proven track record of zealous advocacy and oral advocacy skills of the highest caliber.
- Travel will be required
