Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills as requested or directed in order to meet changing job conditions

• Operate standard classroom equipment; prepare and maintain accurate records; and use pertinent software applications (e.g. net classroom, eTextbooks, eBooks, iTunes, U courses, education Apps), including any updates or new applications as may be provided

• Maintain consistently-updated professional development, knowledge and ability to apply the concepts required and skills necessary for the teacher’s assigned courses

• Ability to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of varied types and/or purposes; and utilize specific, job-related equipment

• Ability to problem-solve to identify issues and create action plans

• Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and multi-task, working with frequent interruptions, while meeting deadlines and schedules

• Working as part of a team in a manner designed to foster collaboration and cooperation

• Working with detailed personal or administrative information/data, while maintaining confidentiality

• Reasonable care, maintenance and operation of classroom and workroom technology and equipment, to include copy machines, computers, DVD player, television equipment, iPad, etc.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in the subject area or a related field is required

• Master’s degree and or teaching Credential are preferred, but not required

Certifications:

• Academic Administrators and Teachers must have a current ACSI Administrator or Teacher Certificate or agree to a specific timetable, approved by MHS Administration, for obtaining one.

Work Experience:

• High school teaching experience is preferred

• Experience working in a Christian school setting is a plus

Language Skills:

• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to clearly, professionally and effectively respond to questions from staff, students and parents

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment is indoors in a comfortable temperature controlled classroom environment and is typically free from dust and hazardous materials

MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to perform well under pressure, while treating others with respect and consideration

• Ability to maintain a level of professionalism and calm when others are behaving inappropriately
