CT Technologist Needed for a Hospital in Brooklyn!
Full time position!
Shifts:
Full-Time Monday-Friday plus alternate weekends 3:00pm – 11:00pm
Full-Time Sunday-Thursday 11pm – 7am
Full-Time Tuesday-Saturday 11pm – 7am.
Job Description
-Provides immobilization devices as required.
-Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
-Provides radiation protection.
-Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.
-Consults with physician and/or reads physician’s orders to determine proper testing procedures according to established protocol.
-Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material.
-Transfers images to PACS system with the necessary scanned documents.
-Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control Policies.
-When necessary must transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
-Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards and built in low dose features.
-Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of CT and IR procedures.
-Prepares all accessory materials and/or equipment for all the procedures as directed by the Radiologist.
-Examines the study/images for adequacy and makes necessary adjustments.
-Assures patients and staff are treated in a courteous and professional manner. Exhibits respect and awareness of quality of patient care.
-Registers patients and answers phones as required.
-Maintains adequate records as directed including daily QC. Insures requisitions are properly completed. Registers patients and answers phones as required.
-Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the CT Scanner and Radiology rooms.
-Takes inventory, request and secures all supplies and materials necessary for the CT Scanner and IR rooms.
-Supervises clinical instruction of assigned student radiographers.
-Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality records in compliance with hospital standards.
-Adhere to the Policy of the Medical Center to ensure that patient information and medical records are treated as confidential, in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Requirements/Qualifications
-Minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
-Radiology Technologists with a valid ARRT certification and a current NY state license.
-Is eligible to take the ARRT advance level certification in CT.
-If the applicant is a current qualified employee, he/she will pursue and get the ARRT - CT certification with in a period of 12 months from the date of transfer. This is required to maintain the CT position after the 12-month period.
-Must possess oral and written skills for communicating with patients, physicians, and other staff.
-Must possess some degree of independent judgment and discretion in performing procedures.
