Overview:
The CT Technician plays a crucial role in the imaging department, responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) scans to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They play a pivotal role in the healthcare team, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging that contributes to patient care and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform CT scans as ordered by physicians and ensure patient comfort and safety
Calibrate and maintain CT equipment to ensure optimal imaging quality
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure proper shielding and protective measures
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to interpret imaging results
Assist in patient positioning and provide clear instructions for scan procedures
Document patient information, imaging details, and maintain accurate records
Monitor patient condition during scans and respond to any complications or concerns
Stay updated on technological advancements in CT imaging and equipment
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and healthcare policies
Participate in quality control and assurance programs for imaging
Provide patient education about the CT scan process and address any concerns
Assist in training and mentoring new CT technologists
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the imaging department
Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals and departments
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to process improvements
Required Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
Certification in CT Imaging from an accredited program
State licensure as a CT Technologist
Minimum of [X] years of experience in CT imaging
