Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our radiology team in Burlington, VT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, and providing exceptional patient care. This role requires a certified radiologic technologist with advanced CT certification and a strong background in radiologic technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, explaining procedures and providing reassurance to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Operate CT equipment, including setting exposure factors and selecting appropriate imaging techniques.
- Assist radiologists in interpreting images and providing accurate diagnostic information.
- Start IVs for contrast administration as needed, ensuring proper handling and disposal of contrast materials.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on CT equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Must-Haves:
- Education: Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
- Certification: Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) with advanced certification in CT.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with a strong foundation in radiographic procedures and patient care.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Trauma Center Experience: Experience working in a Level I trauma center.
- IV Experience: Experience in starting IVs for contrast administration.
- Technology Experience: Familiarity with Philips CT technology, Epic EMR, and Visage PACS system.
