Culinary Center/Test Kitchen Intern - Land O'Lakes Inc.

Provide hands-on training alongside Corporate Chefs, culinary professionals, dietitians & nutritionists in a food manufacturers' test kitchen business environment, working in both retail and foodservice divisions. Culinary skills will be leveraged for internal and external meetings, product and recipe development, innovation concepts, and quality assurance testing. Interns will also have experience working with cross-functional teams to gain exposure to the overall Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods business.

Culinary skills and knowledge will be leveraged for the following:

• Opportunity to learn and perform Culinary Center product testing procedures
• Recipe testing and recipe development
• Understand and be able to track food trends
• Exposure to developing content for owned platforms (ex: Instagram, Facebook, website, etc.)
• Co-create with the Culinary Center Manager(s) on a summer project that has a lasting impact on the department

Experience-Education (Required):

• College student majoring in Food Science, Food and Nutrition, Culinary Science, or closely related area.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

• Demonstrate a true passion for cooking, food, and flavors
• Demonstrate a strong background with hands-on experience in basic culinary techniques and cooking methods
• Equal interest in the science and creativity of food
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to details
• Ability and desire to taste, critique, and provide honest feedback on a variety of foodservice and retail products, recipes and ingredients throughout the workday

Experience-Education (Preferred):

• ServSafe certification
• Experience working in a foodservice establishment kitchen
• Experience in preparing or testing recipes
• Experience with food photography and video
• Understand the safe operation procedures of standard food service equipment
