WHO YOU ARE
Explore Schools seeks a dedicated school professional to join our team as a Culture Operations Associate. This critical role, liaising between the operations and culture teams, requires flexibility and the ability to wear many hats to help the school meet its cultural and non-instructional goals and objectives. - Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

- Spanish or Haitian Creole fluency, a plus

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Explore Schools is seeking a Culture Operations Associate who will ensure the smooth operations of the school’s Culture Office, with an emphasis on data entry, creating data reports, logistical support, parent/guardian communication, and general Culture Team support. The Culture Team is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all school-wide student culture initiatives and activities. The Operations Team is responsible for all non-instructional tasks and activities and provides support to the Program and Culture teams. The Culture Operations Associate will serve as a liaison between the Culture and Operations teams. You will be expected to manage the following daily:
- Tracking and reporting on culture data;
- Attendance tracking and follow-up with families and students
- Coordinating parent/guardian communication regarding behavioral expectations, uniform and attendance policies, consequences and interventions
- General support of the school, main office, and culture office including, but not limited to: coordinating and creating materials for weekly student assemblies; scheduling and planning for meetings and events; creating, printing, and distributing materials; monitoring arrival/ lunch/ recess/ dismissal/ detention.
- De-escalating students through picking them up or returning them to class, 1:1 conversations, student mediations, and information gathering.
- Monitor the dean’s office and ensure that all dean’s office systems are being upheld
- Assisting the school dean and other school leadership team members with various tasks and student-related needs.
- Ensuring the safety of students at all times
- Assisting with non-instructional supervision of students, as needed, such as arrival/dismissal, hallway monitoring, substitute teaching, lunch & playground duty, or supervision of detention/ extracurricular activities
- Keeping accurate & organized records of student information
- Collaborating with colleagues throughout the Explore Schools network
- Actively engaging in identity work and necessary conversations in order to dismantle white supremacy culture
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Explore Schools staff members receive a competitive salary, paid time off including network shutdown days, considerable matching of retirement contributions, and more.
- The salary range for incoming Culture Operations Associates is $50,000 to $60,000. This is our good faith range at the time of posting.
- Incoming salaries are determined based on experience and internal equity.
- Because we value staff members staying in their roles over time, we do not currently cap salary ranges and this is the range for incoming staff members only.
- This is base salary and does not include additional compensation opportunities, such as signing bonuses, additional time worked pay, stipends, leadership opportunities, and additional pay for specialized certifications and advanced degrees.

LOCATION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Explore Schools is a network of 6 charter schools located in Canarsie, Crown Heights, and Flatbush communities of Brooklyn, NY. Our schools are currently operating fully in-person. For this position:
- In-person work is required
- This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime.
- The standard workweek is 45 hours, though at times you may work more. For non-exempt roles, employees are eligible for overtime for any work over 40 hours.
- This role requires that you be able to stand for at least 5 hours a day, take multiple trips up and down the stairs in a day, and be able to move quickly in an emergency.
- This role also requires that you be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
