Reporting to the Custodial/Set-up Services Supervisor, the Custodial Associate will provide a clean, safe, and friendly environment for visitors and staff.
This position is represented by a union.
You Will:
- Performs day-to-day custodial functions as assigned.
- Clean windows, furnishings, fixtures, hallways, stairways, elevators, escalators, restrooms, and ledges daily as instructed.
- Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc.
- Clean carpets, including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
- Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored and stocked at all times.
- Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
- Keep the supervisor informed of supply needs and any potential hazards.
- Assist with special events set-up and breakdowns.
You Have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent or equivalent certificate of completion is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in facilities operations or custodial services required.
- Knowledge of modern cleaning methods for floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, and restrooms.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
- Knowledge of appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when cleaning and handling bio-hard materials and/or chemicals.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and processes desired.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and a positive and respectful attitude with peers, subordinates, supervisors, administrators, customers, and visitors.
- Ability to attend and participate in continuing educational programs.
- Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and heights.
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays when needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Repeatedly move, push, and transport up to 50 pounds.
- Position self to kneel, bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods of time.

The expected base hourly wage for this role is $18.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
