Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is responsible for performing custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets, along with cleaning and restocking restroom areas. This position will work in a dedicated building but will relocate at manager's discretion to assist other buildings and departments with custodial tasks, as needed.
FOCUS:
- Essential duties include the following. Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean work environment for employees and customers by completing the following:
- Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and using the motorized floor scrubber.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Wipe down counter areas and frequent contact areas, such as doors, handles, etc.
- Put away shop supplies, consumables, etc. as needed.
- Assist with putting away tools/parts in the shop(s).
- Organize shelves and storage space in the shop(s), as time allows.
- Assist with the following custodial needs in designated office areas:
- Wipe down desk areas and interior glass.
- Replace and take out trash and recycling.
- Vacuum and mop floor.
- Clean restroom areas.
- Keep restrooms areas in designated shop(s) clean and fully stocked with paper necessities and soap.
- Complete minor projects as directed by Custodial Manager.
- Help with coverage of other shops in the absence of other custodial team members.
- Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, sweeping the pathways, pulling weeds, putting down ice melt, etc.)
- Must follow the company's safety rules and policies.
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- High attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to understand verbal instructions.

EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to view a computer monitor.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of material.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
- Works indoors and some outdoors.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
