Major/Essential Functions

• Cleaning is done according to the standards set by the department. Proper methods and procedures should always be followed consistently in all areas.
• Promotes and practices safety in the workplace. 
• Maintains an accident-free operation. 
• Uses and cares for equipment in a safe and proper manner. 
• Chemicals are used in a safe and proper manner to avoid waste or accidents.
• Performs emergency cleanup of rooms, winter & summer camp cleanup, specialty floor or carpet cleaning, winter & summer break cleaning, weekend work schedule, and all related work as required. 
• Paying attention to detail in all areas.
• Reports needed repairs and property damage. 
• Leaves work areas clean and orderly, including all work-related equipment, custodial closets, and break room areas.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time.
• Based on the sports season, the ability to work mandatory overtime, including nights and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver's license and two-year driving record acceptable to the university.
• Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Experience in athletic facilities.
• Knowledge of commonplace custodial practices.
• At least one year of custodial experience.
• Ability to learn materials, methods, and equipment used in assigned work.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment by following the correct procedures.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
