About Us:
Established in 1963, and situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains on 180 acres of old-growth redwood forest, Roaring Camp Inc. is a heritage tourist railroad that offers two unique journeys. The Bear Mountain excursion offers year around steam train excursions through the old growth redwood forest, while the Santa Cruz Beach Train offers seasonal excursions through the Redwood Forests to the sandy beaches of Santa Cruz.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains park cleanliness through a variety of detailed cleaning tasks:
- Prepare park for opening through sweep, rake, water plants, use of blowers to clean the park grounds;
- Clean and remove debris from public areas;
- Empty recycled, compost and trash bins and transport to Waste pickup area;
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies;
- Wash and wipe down windows, walls, handrails and woodwork;
- Unlock and lock facilities as needed;
- Maintain current skills and knowledge in the proper and safe techniques of building maintenance;
- Set up and breakdown for events;
- Assist with basic landscape maintenance as required;
- Assist with building and irrigation repairs as required;
- Operate machinery related to maintaining park cleanliness including pressure washers, blowers, weed eater trimmer, vacuums, pumps and plumbing snakes.
- Operate pick‑up trucks and lawn mowers.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections and notifies the Team Leader if there are any repairs that need to be made or safety concerns to be addressed.
- Must be able to frequently:
- Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs
- Stoop and squat
- Twist and bend neck forward and backward
- Work in standing position for long periods
- Bend waist while standing
- Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays.

Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or GED and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the required duties for this position.
- Six (6) months of full-time experience is highly desirable.
- Certification/License: A valid California motor vehicle operators’ license is required.
