Perform general housekeeping duties and duties as a custodian. This person will substitute during the illness or vacation of a regular custodian or float from area to area, on a temporary basis.
Qualifications:EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Preferred
- Valid Driver's License. Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Experience as a custodian. Required
- Familiarity with automated cleaning equipment. Preferred
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructions. Required
- Dispose of trash.
- Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop areas.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.
- Clean fountains, ashtrays, and blackboards.
- Dust and/or wash areas requiring same.
- Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
- Wash windows and door glass.
- Strip and refinish floors and maintain all types of floor surfaces.
- Sweep stairs and stairwells and wash same.
- Remove ice and snow from stairs, entrances, and walks.
- Wash walls, window ledges, woodwork, furnishings; remove graffiti.
- Replace light bulbs and tubes; clean light fixtures.
- Submit supply and repair requisitions to Supervisor.
- Keep housekeeping equipment clean and perform minor repairs on same.
- When leaving buildings, responsible for seeing that buildings are properly secured.
- Substitute for other custodians during illness or vacation as requested by Supervisor.
-Exposure to dust and harsh chemicals in performing duties.
-Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
-May require climbing and working off of ladders, scaffolding, and powered lifts.
-May require travel between buildings during shift.
