The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for the dealership employees and customers.
Responsibilities
- Cleans work areas, empties trash, and collects scrap and used materials to process in accordance with company policy and local, state, and federal regulations
- Performs routine building maintenance
- Sweeps, vacuums, mops & operates company supplied floor scrubber
- Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors, fans, and vending machines
- Maintains hot beverage areas by cleaning counter surfaces, sink & tables
- Cleans bathrooms and restock/refill soap, paper supplies as needed
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary
- Empties and cleans lunchroom refrigerator once a week
- Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, interior and exterior
- Removes all debris from dealership lots
- Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedure
- Drains and disposes of used oil filters properly
- Removes and disposes of scrap materials as directed
- Assists Technicians with oil and water spills and with emptying drain tubs
- Communicates with Supervisor if additional work is needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
- Proficient knowledge of cleaning equipment and agents
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning agents and chemicals
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other custodian work
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment
- Physically agile and dexterous
- Available to work after hours
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Work well when supervisors are not present
- Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds
