Scope of Position:
Dipper / Strippers are responsible for operating the manual & automatic dipping equipment to manufacture dipped parts. This includes loading forms on machine, performing dipping operation and stripping parts from forms, checking and maintaining tank levels, performing handling operations, preparing various solutions, maintaining & cleaning equipment, and performing quality assurance checks. Post processing in ovens, washers and dryers are also performed.
Essential Functions:
- · Fill latex and coagulant machines.
- · Drain, dismantle, clean, reassemble and refill dip machines and clean forms.
- · Transfer dipping plates from dipping machine to leach tank to oven (TRING only).
- · Strip parts from forms.
- · Communicate status of job to the next shift.
- · Mount forms on dipping plates (TRING only).
- · Mount dipping plates on dipping machines (TRING only).
Range of Physical Activities:
- · Standing/Walking - Varied standing and walking all day. No sitting.
- · Pushing/Pulling - Dipping forms on cart (50 - 235 lbs.), latex barrels (4-600 lbs.), sweeping and mopping.
- · Lifting - Forms, dipping plates, solutions, machine parts, and parts from 5-235 lbs.
- · Writing – White board, notes, tags, new dipping procedures, etc.
- · Reading - Supervisors instruction, white board, procedures.
- · Math - Add, subtract, multiply, divide.
- · Climbing - Climbing ladders up to five feet.
- · Manual Dexterity - Two hands required to mount dipping machines, fill dipping machines, strip parts from forms.
- · Visual Activity - Must visually maintain levels and depth of various fluids, visually adjust dip depth of forms, determine color difference on dipped parts, program dipping changes on computer screen.
- · Temperature/Humidity - The ability to withstand a work area that can reach 90 to 100°F with heat blasts from an oven reaching 270°F for a very short period of time with high humidity.
